
Kumar is a seasoned global leader with 30 years of experience in sourcing and procurement across diverse industries. He has developed and executed enterprise-wide, cross-functional strategies that have delivered significant improvements in EBIT and working capital. Known for building strong sourcing organizations, Kumar has been a speaker and panelist at major sourcing conferences such as ProcureCon and ICN, and regularly writes articles on sourcing topics.
His career includes 8 years at American Airlines, and 16 years at Owens Corning as Director of Indirect Sourcing, where he led a global team responsible for category strategy, contract negotiations, supplier relationship management, and technology implementation. Managing an annual spend of $900 million across categories like IT, Marketing, HR, Finance, and MRO, Kumar spearheaded initiatives to develop sourcing technology roadmaps, standardize processes, and analyze complex supply chains to reduce costs and improve efficiency. Most recently, he has worked on IT and telecom sourcing for a large investment bank and a mining company.
