Michael Lorenz is a results-oriented senior transportation procurement manager with over 30 years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, and strategic operations. He has a proven track record of managing multimodal transportation networks and large-scale warehouse operations to drive performance, cost savings, and business growth.
Michael’s career began with a strong foundation in the U.S. Army Infantry, where he served from 1985 to 1990, gaining invaluable leadership skills. From 1990 to 2005, he worked in various distribution roles at Unit Logistics, GATX Logistics, and DSC Logistics, including managing customer service and inventory control teams and serving as Operations Manager for an 850,000 sq. ft. warehouse. He then spent 18 years at Kellogg Company, managing the national customer service teams for SuperValu and Albertsons, optimizing freight operations, and improving supply chain processes.
Most recently, as Senior Manager at Lamb Weston, Michael led the North American Transportation Procurement team, overseeing a $630M annual budget and achieving $29M in savings over two years. Proficient in SAP, TMS, and WMS systems, he is committed to operational excellence.
